In a police interview played Wednesday in Boulder County Court, Daniel Shea calmly explained that he shopped online for a variety of items to outfit himself as a FBI agent, including handcuffs and a hat and patch bearing the agency’s initials.

“I had an FBI hat on and an FBI patch on,” Shea said. “You can buy them off eBay.
