When it comes to designing websites and video games, you’re never too young.
Cameron Bergamo, 9, a third-grader at Norton’s L.G. Nourse Elementary School, was among youngsters attending a Saturday web design course recently at Foxboro’s Invensys branch of the Hockomock YMCA with their eyes on the digital future.
“The fun part of this class is that I get to learn how to make web design because I want to be a game designer and it will help to make my website,” said Bergamo, 9, who said he enjoys learning coding and HTML language.
Cameron’s mother, Angela Kulbok, said her son aspires to design video games as a career.
“When I saw the STEM class offered at YMCA I thought it would be a perfect fit to develop those skills,” she said. “Since the computer is part of everyday life and it is important to learn the skill at a young age.”
